Dominica Visa

Dominica visas are required by citizens of a few countries for entry to the Caribbean island of Dominica. Please note that Dominica is not to be confused with the Republic of Dominica. Dominica visas are required by individuals who are not citizens of these groupings; the CARICOM COMMUNITY, United States of America and the Commonwealth of Nation. Persons who are citizens of the above mentioned countries may come to Dominica visa free for a period which does not go over six (6) months.

A Dominica visa must be obtained by individuals who are not citizens of the above mentioned countries, the visa will be granted for three (3) months and the individual may not reside in the country for a longer period that what is stated in the visa or what has been granted by immigration officials up arrival on the island of Dominica.

To obtain a Dominica visa an application must be made. Dominica visa application can be made with any Dominica Embassy or Consulate and the Ministry of Immigration on the island of Dominica. The Dominica visa requirements are a complete application form which must be signed. Adults must complete and sign this document on behalf of minors. Each applicant for a Dominica visa must possess a valid Passport. The following must accompany the application form for Dominica Visa:

  • Passport
  • Two (2) passport sized photographs for each applicant
  • A letter of Invitation
  • A letter from employer or proof of self employment
  • Bank statement for applicants
  • Bank statement of sponsor ( not always required)
  • Application fee

All documents or copies of documents to be submitted when applying for a Dominica visa must be notarized. And documents which are n languages other than English must be translated and certified.

Persons travelling to the island of Dominica using a Dominica Visa will need the following for entry into the country: a valid passport, return ticket and enough funds to maintain one’s stay on the island. Immigration officials may also require that the visitor provide a local address.

Dominica visas are granted for business and other purposes. Individual visiting the island on a Dominica visa must pay close attention to regulation of the country and must not over stay the allotted time given by immigration officials in Dominica. Lengthening of stay on the island can be granted if the applicants meet the necessary requirement. An interview must be attended with immigration official and a fee must be paid to the Treasury Department on the island of Dominica. Dominica visas are easy to obtain and ensures legal entry into the Caribbean island of Dominica.
